Welcome to KDZ Designs Projects Portfolio. The first set of images are from a year-long residential renovation project, completed in December of 2009. The 4500 square foot house is in Western Massachusetts, and is an iconic Arts and Crafts Bungalow, built in 1915. Working with the builder and architect, I introduced an updated and contemporary feel to the interior, while honoring the history of the house. The images below are from a residential project in Southern New Hampshire, that Thom Glynn and I completed in July 2010. The spaces included are a family room and living room adjacent to one another. Our design analysis led us to maintain the traditional structural and finish elements (marble fireplace surround and mantle in the living room), but provide an eclectic mix of furnishings, including a vintage mid-century modern marble coffee table, early 1900’s side table, and a modern urban sideboard. Recessed and decorative lighting in different styles highlight a mix of graphic and more traditional art work; green and blue wall colors predominate in both spaces, including a deep blue-gray-green in the living room.
